National Day 2013

 Happy 48th Birthday, Singapore !

As a "pure breed" of Singaporean , I look forward to every 9th of August every year. When I was young like in primary and secondary school, I normally have the privilege ( due to daddy community work) to go to the national day parade back at the old national stadium. I was able to join in the crow and look at firework. As they demolished the building, with the work and studies commitment, I was unable to go the ndp. I am normally working on ndp, serving the nation people.

This year, was very special, I was able to serve the nation people and spend time with my family. We are able to watch NDP on TV, wave our hands, doing the pledge, singing national anthem with my niece, educating the Singapore Spirit. It was kinda fun and interesting for me.

Probably, something to share, I was able to go back to become an emergency paramedic with the private operating company. I realized that I love and miss the job, most importantly I am good at what I do. Is life searching for 'the calling', or some time in life, we also need to re-affirm our "calling"... I am glad that that after the 1 year wait, I am able to go back, unlike the sales life......

I am back to my old favorite workplace, had some anxiety as the place was full of new people. Based on my bubbly personality, I was able to meet new friends and enjoy the environment. Due to the contract, I was much more busier than them, and I hardly have time to be in the office. I meet mostly in Hospital, sometime we are working but never get to see each other.

Below : Crew of 221 on  8th Aug 2013 - Hari Raya Puasa - I was the morning crew when the rest was the afternoon crew, and I had stayed back to chat with them.. It feel so good and cosy, to be able to relax and chat. Unlike the previous time, when you wanna leave asap.

It has been about 5 months with the company and almost 3 months as a full timer... I do have a regular crew with me and I am satisfied with my regular crew. I love being a emergency paramedic. I get to treat and figure out what happen to the patient, and follow on cases to improve my skills. The stress is : Being an experienced paramedic, there are things that are  highly expected of you even you don't know much about company culture.I wonder did I get the beginner luck also, I went for cases that i did not go in my 6-10years experience, for eg, decomposed, near drowning ( after reading ECS for near drowning theory or too much bondi's beach ?) Ya, nobody believe i never attend decomposed before.

I wonder if i was superstitious or coincidence that during the chinese "7th month", there are much more trauma cases in the first 3 days already.  As we were discussing, and joking about trauma trained personnel should go for the above cases, as they are more trained and highly paid. The thing that piss me off, was my vehicle go stuck in mud as my "clever" driver decided himself that he will drive thru the wet and soft gras patch. True enough, we were stuck ! I was so piss, as we knew pt had no breathing.

I had to call spare alpha as a back up, and cancel it when the vehicle came up from the soil. I am so glad thai I was able to handle the case objectively and professionally.

Did I say i predict the crew will go for it today  and they really did ? I hope tmr moring it will be peaceful ! Peace out !
